P450 Cytochrome Conclusions

P450 Cytochrome enzymes have diverse roles in nature. In higher organisms they are important intermediates in biological processes, cytochromes act as hormonal regulators, they regulate the metabolism of fat-soluble substances of both internal and external origin, and are indispensable for the elimination of environmental pollutants as in the case of xenobiotics, or removal of excess fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamin A or D.
Its current uses as a tool as a biomarker is limited but there are possibilities for future use including microorganisms, as bioremediation, among other promising options.
